What Elektric processes, in plain language.
This pre-beta privacy foundation explains the categories of information involved in operating Elektric. It is not a substitute for the professionally reviewed policy planned before broader launch.

Information you provide
Elektric processes account information such as your name and email address, project and API-key labels, billing choices, support communications, and other information you intentionally submit.
API request processing
API requests do not retain prompt or response content as conversation or memory state. Applications send any prior messages needed for a request. Prompt content is sent to a selected third-party AI provider so that provider can generate a response. Provider practices are governed by their own terms and policies.
Operational and usage data
Elektric retains metadata needed for routing, reliability, abuse prevention, product operation, and accounting. This can include timestamps, token counts, latency, request status, selected provider or model, cost, billing status, project identifiers, API-key identifiers and prefixes, and diagnostic request IDs.
Payments
Stripe handles payment-card collection through hosted Checkout. Elektric does not store full card details, but receives and retains payment status, amounts, references, and ledger records needed to administer prepaid service credits.
How information is used
Elektric uses information to authenticate users, operate and secure the API, route requests, calculate usage, maintain balances, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, provide support, and improve service reliability.
Service providers
Elektric relies on infrastructure, identity, payment, and AI providers to operate the service. These providers process relevant information for their role, subject to their own agreements and policies.
Your choices
You can revoke project API keys and manage projects from the dashboard. Account deletion is not yet self-service. A verified privacy and account-deletion contact process will be published before public beta.

This foundation may change as Elektric develops. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new revision date.
